At Project Embrace, we take immense pride in working with the communities that we do. Increasing access to quality health care to those who need it is what drives us. The Impact Pages are a means for our organization to track and hold ourselves accountable to these communities. Each year, we will release reports on several target populations that delve into the current state of need in these communities.

These reports are our pledge to improve access to needed resources. The Community Health Profiles and Community Impact Assessments can be viewed by clicking on the buttons below and will be downloaded as PDFs.

Unsheltered

Homelessness has been intensified by inefficiency in policy-making and deepened by misinformation around the subject. No state currently has an adequate supply of affordable housing for the lowest-income renter. The NLIHC has found that there are only 32 affordable and available homes for every 100 low-income renter households in Utah.

Indigenous

Native peoples or indigenous individuals have strong and obvious barriers to health care services. Lack of governmental funding and awareness of these barriers along with restrictive policies only compound the problem. Furthermore, the very first group that was hit hard by the COVID-19 disproportionately in Utah was the Navajo community.

Refugees

Asylum seekers, refugees, and immigrants fleeing poverty, violence, unlivable environments due to climate change, and war, face language and cultural barriers to health care services. Moreover, individuals seeking refuge come to the United States with various traumas that have been shown to affect both their mental health and physical health.
